McHENRY COUNTY, N.D. (KVLY/Gray News) – A man is dead after getting pinned between a vehicle and a building while his truck was being towed.
According to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, it happened just after 9 p.m. Thursday in the 100 block of 42nd Street North.
Authorities said the 64-year-old was driving a pickup truck when it went off the road in rural McHenry County and got stuck in a ditch.
Another motorist, a 74-year-old man, stopped to help tow the pickup out of the ditch.
As the two were working to tow the truck, the vehicle was getting close to a structure and the 64-year-old man got out to check the progress.
However, the man who was helping didn’t know the pickup driver exited and he ended up getting pinned.
The pickup driver was extricated and transported to the hospital but he didn’t survive.
Authorities did not immediately release the names of the men involved.
McHenry County Sheriff’s Office said the situation remains under investigation.
