(Gray News) – A 4-year-old in Maryland was reportedly shot and killed by his father after asking him to leave during an argument on Christmas Eve.
Around 6:35 a.m., officers responded to the unit block of Breslin Court, 21237, for reports of a shooting.
Baltimore County Police said Jacobi Jones was killed by his own father, Mark Jones.
The father is also accused of injuring Jacobi’s mother and his 1-year-old sister before turning the gun on himself.
Authorities said it all started when Mark Jones allegedly walked into Jacobi’s mother’s room and began arguing, WMAR reported.
Jacobi asked his father to leave the room, but then he allegedly grabbed a gun, shooting Jacobi, along with his mother and sister.
The three victims were taken to a hospital where Jacobi was pronounced dead.
According to a GoFundMe created by Jacobi’s mother, she said grieving the loss of her has been the most unbearable thing she’s ever had to deal with.
“The agony and pain I feel is something wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. I am trying to push through for the sake of the fact that I still have my daughter who needs me,” she said.
Mark Jones now faces one count of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted first-degree murder, authorities said.
His next hearing is scheduled for later this month.
