AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department (APD) assisted the Lockhart Police Department after a shooting involving a suspect and an officer on Saturday.
According to APD, APD SWAT was dispatched to assist at around 5:45 p.m. after a suspect barricaded themselves in a house. According to Lockhart police, the residence is located in the 900 block of First Street.
The shooting occurred just before 8 p.m. The suspect was then life flighted to a hospital, according to APD Watch Command, where the extent of their injuries is unknown.
As of 8:30 p.m., the situation was cleared.
The investigation is still ongoing. Lockhart police said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
