Caroline Flack’s mother has been left heartbroken by texts discovered on Lewis Burton’s phone shortly before the beloved Love Island host’s tragic passing.

Caroline, was 40-years-old when she took her own life in 2020 after learning that her assault trial involving her then-boyfriend Lewis, 32, would proceed despite initial indications of a caution.

The couple had a heated argument in 2019 when Caroline allegedly found messages from another woman on Lewis’ phone, leading to her being charged with assaulting the model and subsequently experiencing a severe decline in her mental health, culminating in her suicide on February 15, 2020.

Recently, it has come to light that Caroline’s mother has been questioning whether the texts Caroline reportedly saw on Lewis’s phone might have been from Lottie Tomlinson, younger sister of One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson, the Mirror reports.

Lottie, 26, an influencer now engaged to Lewis and expecting his daughter, already shares son Lucky with the tennis player. The pair became an item six months following Caroline’s death, having met at a commemorative party three months after the TV presenter’s demise.

Addressing speculation about the text messages Caroline is believed to have found, Lottie’s representative told the Mail: “It is not true at all, they hadn’t even met before at the time of the incident. Hope this clears that rumour up.”

After Lottie shared an Instagram family photo with Lewis and Lucky, captioning it as their “last time as a three” in anticipation of their daughter’s arrival, a friend of Caroline’s revealed to the media: “It must be devastating for Christine, she has lost her daughter and now Lewis has become some kind of influencer with his girlfriend, living in apparent bliss and about to become a father for the second time.”

It’s been nearly five years since the untimely passing of Caroline, and her mother is now in the process of creating a follow-up documentary on her suicide, this time partnering with Disney+.

The forthcoming film aims to uncover what transpired during Caroline’s last hours and ponders if her death could have been prevented.

In a recent statement, Christine reflected: “I still have so many questions about what happened to Caroline in her final months, and it’s something I feel deeply compelled to explore, even though I know it will be challenging.

“I’m pleased to be working with the team at Curious Films once again, in the hope of bringing clarity and understanding to Carrie’s story – not just for her, but for everyone who cared about her.”
