Lily Allen has reportedly checked into a US rehab centre after her marriage to Stranger Things’ David Harbour came to an end.

It was announced today the star has taken a break from work commitments including the podcast Miss Me? which she hosts with friend Miquita Oliver.

In the most recent episode of the show, which dropped on Monday, Miquita told listeners that Lily would be taking a “rest” and she’ll be joined by various showbiz pals in the meantime, starting with popstar Mabel next week.

According to reports, Lily, 39, felt “triggered” when she returned to the plush Brooklyn townhouse she lived in with Harbour last week.

It came after we reported last week that Lily had been forced to deny she was found in a crack den surrounded by men – but admitted she’s been “spiralling and spiralling” over rumours Harbour, 49, cheated on her.

She’s now set to spend weeks at the £8,000-a-week trauma treatment centre, and will take part group sessions and one-to-one therapy which will be “intensive” and will help her “unpack” her emotions.

A source told Mailonline: “It was very painful for Lily to return home. David used to be her saviour and now he’s a trigger for her. Lily settled her kids back into the family home and took them to school for their new term, then flew herself straight to rehab. She went a day earlier than intended as she felt wobbly and desperate to escape.”

Last week, as it was revealed she was stepping away from her podcast commitments, Lily said: “What I do want to reassure people because there will be speculation because of the amount of time that I’m going to be taking away that I’m going to drug rehab. I’m not,” she added. “I’ve not relapsed.

“I know there have been some horrible blind items on the internet about me being found by my husband in a crack den being surrounded by men. I don’t know who’s spreading these vicious rumours but that’s not true.”

Allen and Harbour were first linked in January 2019 and were engaged the same year, before tying the knot in a courthouse ceremony in Las Vegas in 2020.

Allen reportedly discovered Harbour was looking for other women on dating app Raya – where she herself met the star – ahead of their split.

In order to find out the truth, she joined the app and discovered that Harbour had already set up a dating profile and was listed on the app as being active for at least a month.

Pals had hoped the relationship between the pair would change the Smile star’s luck for the better after opening up about issues with drink and drugs in the past.

The pal told Mailonline: “She wants to make sure she’s feeling physically well again so she can be there for her daughters as the best mother she can be.

“Everyone thinks David is the steady one and Lily is the crazy head-case. But the reality is that Lily was calmer and more grounded than she’s ever been – until she discovered that her marriage was unexpectedly over. She is taking the responsible course of action with a trip to a retreat to get her head straight.”

By the time the couple split around a month ago, Allen was convinced that Harbour – who bought a new house in Atlanta last year to be near the set of Stanger Things – had a new girlfriend.

Lily’s daughters – Esthel, 11, and Marnie, 13 – were reportedly expecting their stepfather – who is close to the girls – for a festive safari in Kenya but he was a no show as he was spotted at an Indian temple, in the foothills of the Himalayas, with a mystery woman in her twenties.
