A prisoner who was filmed having sex with a prison officer while behind bars has reportedly been violently attacked by another inmate while holding his three-month-old baby.

Linton Weirich, who is currently serving a four-and-a-half-year sentence for burglary, is said to have been set upon during visiting time at HMP Swaleside on December 18.

The video of Weirich and married prison officer Linda De Sousa Abreu went viral last year, with her sentencing for the misconduct taking place just days before the attack.

The incident saw both Weirich and his baby daughter rushed to hospital, a source claims, where it was found the tot had suffered a fractured skull, reports the Mirror.

Police and paramedics attended the Category B prison – where Weirich moved to from HMP Wandsworth following the sex scandal.

Weirich was also found to have head injuries, and had fallen on to his daughter. Officers say a suspect has been identified and an investigation is underway, but no arrests have been made.

A Prison Service spokesperson reportedly said: “Police are investigating an assault on a prisoner at HMP Swaleside on 18 December. It would be inappropriate to comment further while they investigate.

“The baby suffered a fractured skull but has since been discharged from hospital. The suspect has been identified and an investigation is ongoing.”

South East Coast Ambulance Service reportedly confirmed it attended an incident at the prison that day.

Weirich’s girlfriend was visiting him at the time of the attack, which left the baby’s mum distressed after seeing her child unresponsive.

A source claimed: “It was awful for the baby’s mum to witness. To see her child not responding and knocked out is terrifying,” they told The Sun. “The family have been in total shock. They’re really stressed out and worried about the baby still.”

The incident comes just days after disgraced Linda De Sousa Abreu was jailed for 15 months after she pled guilty to misconduct in a public office. The shocking clip from June 2024 saw her in uniform, initially engaging in what appeared to be a sex act with the prisoner.

She was then seen having sex with him while his cellmate filmed the pair on a mobile phone, panning the camera to himself and saying: “This is how we roll in Wandsworth.”

De Sousa Abreu was told she would serve half of her sentence in custody and the rest on licence. During sentencing, Judge Martin Edmunds KC told the mum: “From what I know about you, you were certainly not naïve about the media or social media.

“It must have been obvious that the recording would be shown around and shared, at least amongst prisoners at Wandsworth where it would do the most harm.

“Whether you intended it or not, the fact is that the video went viral, and caused great harm. Many offenders do not intend the harm that their offending causes, but they nevertheless bear responsibility for it.

“You engaged in sexual activity with a prisoner. That compromised your role as an officer, and was misconduct which undermines discipline within the prison, and puts fellow officers at increased risk. You knew that conduct was forbidden and forbidden for good reason.”
