Local leaders say this expansion will help serve the nearly 4,000 people moving to Williamson County every month.

ROUND ROCK, Texas — Hospital leaders with Baylor Scott & White Health celebrated expanding their medical center in Round Rock on Monday.

Health care leaders say they’re doubling the capacity of the Round Rock Medical Center with new technology, beds and a neonatal intensive care unit.

They say hospital and clinic visits in Round Rock have increased by 30% over the past five years. There has also been a 40% rise in newborn deliveries.

Local leaders say this expansion will help serve the nearly 4,000 people moving to Williamson County every month.

The additions will help serve twice as many patients in the growing community.

“We live in one of the fastest-growing regions, not only in America but in the world,” said Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell. “But I think we have a moral obligation, and that obligation is to care for the least of these. I’m not talking about people that are poor or in financial straits; I’m just talking about people that are living in crisis as their family members are fighting for life in this very building. We have that obligation. We have that responsibility, and again and again and again Baylor Scott & White has stepped up to meet the needs of the community.”

Each of the new additions will open in phases. Everything is expected to be fully open by next year.
