A man has been taken to hospital after a road accident in Dumfries and Galloway.

The crash, involving one vehicle, happened around 8am on Tuesday morning near Creetown.

Police closed the C51W between St Johns Street and the junction with the A75 for several hours as a result of the incident, with drivers urged to avoid the area.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “A man was taken to hospital for treatment.

“Motorists are thanked for their patience.”
