AUSTIN, Texas — Austin Fire Department (AFD) crews responded to a gas leak on Rainey Street Tuesday morning.
AFD said a construction crew hit a gas line around 9:20 a.m. at 80 Rainey St. Crews responding to the hazmat situation found a gas line that had been cut two feet in the ground.
As of 9:47 a.m., AFD said its crews had stopped the leak but would remain on the scene until Texas Gas Service crews arrive.
