ITV’s Loose Women will broadcast a special episode titled This is 70+ on Tuesday, 28 January, in honour of the network’s 70th anniversary. The channel, which began broadcasting in 1955, will celebrate a milestone year with this unique edition of the popular daytime show.
The programme is set to feature regular panellists Janet Street-Porter and Gloria Hunniford, alongside special guests including Prue Leith from the Great British Bake Off and actress Lesley Joseph.
A diverse range of topics is expected to be discussed by these women, who are all in their golden years, with themes spanning fashion, friendship, and life lessons gleaned over the decades, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Janet teased in a promotional clip: “Join us as we say happy 70th birthday ITV! And meet Loose Women’s panel of ‘power-agers’.”
Meanwhile, Prue, who will be making her debut on the Loose Women panel, shared: “Our 70 plus squad is here… Sharing some life lessons we’ve picked up along the way.”
Lesley hinted at a light-hearted tone for the show by stating: “I feel so much freer now I’m older”, and humorously added: “We’ll reveal our secrets to ageing dis-gracefully!”
Loose Women’s editor Sally Shelford discussed upcoming special, expressing that the show has reflected its audience’s lives for 25 years, with its panellists openly discussing personal experiences and engaging in conversations that resonate with viewers.
