Police have charged two men in connection with alleged robberies in Edinburgh.
Officers launched a probe following reports of an incident at a Londis store on Easter Road in Leith at around 6.50pm on Friday, January 10. CCTV footage shared on Facebook appeared to show a man entering the shop with what appeared to be a pole.
The shopkeeper could then be seen opening the till and handing over what was believed to be cash. Officers have now revealed a second incident happened at a premises on Elm Row in the city at around 10.50am on Tuesday, January 14.
Two men, aged 34 and 35, have been arrested and charged in connection with the incidents. They are due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Two men, one aged 34 and one aged 35, have been arrested and charged in connection with two robberies in Edinburgh. The first happened around 6.50pm on Friday, 10 January, 2025 at a premises on Easter Road.
“The second happened around 10.50am on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at a premises on Elm Row. Both men are due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.”
Detective Sergeant Steven Dick said: “We would like to thank members of the public who have assisted in our enquiries.”
