The M8 near Glasgow Airport has been closed by police amid an ongoing incident.
The force have said they are in attendance following a report of ‘concern for a person’ on the motorway at 12.45pm on Wednesday.
Motorists have been urged to avoid the area.
Long tailbacks can be seen in photos at the White Cart Viaduct and cars are being diverted by officers off at J27 Westbound.
Traffic Scotland reports that Junction 28 at Glasgow Airport is closed due to an “ongoing police incident”.
A Police Scotland statement said: “Around 12.45pm on Wednesday, 15 January, 2025, officers were called to a report of concern for a person on the M8 at the White Cart Viaduct. The westbound carriageway is closed and motorists are advised to avoid the area and check for an alternative route.”
