Italian Serie A side Como have reportedly kicked off talks to take Alex Valle on loan with the left back’s departure ‘opening the door’ to Kieran Tierney‘s return to Celtic from Arsenal.

Valle arrived at Parkhead in the summer on a season-long loan from Barcelona but that could be cut short with the youngster now emerging as a target for his fellow Spaniard Cesc Fabregas who is in charge of Como. The 20-year-old has been battling it out with Greg Taylor for the Hoops left back spot but has been playing second fiddle to the Scotland man.

However, Taylor’s future is uncertain with talks over a new contract hitting an impasse. And to further muddy the left back situation at the Scottish Premiership champions, former Celtic hero Tierney is set for a return to Parkhead. Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano now says Como “have made contact” with “talks on” over a move for Valle.

And he adds: “Understand Kieran Tierney’s move to Celtic can open doors for Alex Valle’s new loan from Barcelona. Como are strongly interested as they see Valle as top talent. Negotiations on.”
