Virgin River enthusiasts are abuzz with speculation about the twists and turns of the upcoming season of the beloved small-town drama, with one fan theory causing quite a stir.
In the sixth instalment of the popular Netflix show, viewers saw Mel Monroe (portrayed by Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson) exchange vows in a picturesque wedding, amidst a backdrop of startling revelations.
The spotlight this time was on Dan Brady (Benjamin Hollingsworth) and Brie Sheridan’s (Zibby Allen) complicated relationship, which intensified after Brady found out his new love interest Lark (Elise Gatien) had been conning him.
Brady’s clandestine rendezvous with Brie takes a turn when Lark, who initially agrees to give up her deceitful ways upon falling for Brady, reneges on her promise. She overhears Brady’s declaration of love for Brie at the wedding and absconds with his money.
Adding to the drama, Brie’s current flame Mike (Marco Grazzini) leaves everyone agape by proposing marriage, despite the bombshell revelation that he seems aware of her recent tryst with her former lover, reports the Mirror US.
With millions of viewers perched on the brink of their seats, the forthcoming season is eagerly anticipated to disclose Brie’s response and unravel how Mike came to know about her secret. Yet, one viewer has posited a maddeningly straightforward theory on a recent Reddit thread, beginning with, “I have a hunch about Mike’s proposal and why he said he knew about Brie and Brady….
“I know nobody’s gonna agree and I’m probably wrong, but VR is known for hyping something up for a cliffhanger only to kinda disappoint us when the next season comes out.”
Keeping that thought, the fan speculated: “I think it’s gonna be a twist where he says ‘I know, I know you slept with Brady before we got together. I don’t hold that against you, him and I are on better terms now’. Idk some stupid bologna like that.”
Is Mike simply alluding to Brie and Brady’s past fling before she was in a relationship with him?
Some audience members seem convinced the theory will play out – yet they’re disgruntled at the potential plotline.
“Oh my god. I could totally see this, it’s not even real yet and I’m already annoyed by it lol. Good theory,” one viewer shared in the comment section.
Another chimed in: “I thought/think that too!! But then I go back to how he knew her parents were sleeping together before he actually caught them so I’m like ehhh we’ll see!”
A third added their two cents: “No waaaaaayyy. I am sure they will do this now.
“Whatever, as long as they break up and she gets with Brady but I’m also sure they will drag this engagement for a long a** time, only to leave Mike at the altar or sth.”
Yet, there are those Virgin River watchers who aren’t as easily swayed, including an individual who reasoned: “They’ve been seeding him knowing for a few episodes though, especially when he called out her parents before they got caught.
“I think it will be an ‘I know but give me a chance, I won’t disappoint you like Brady blah blah blah’ and then she chooses to be alone and ‘find herself’.”
Is Mike just playing the gallant role regarding his girlfriend’s past relationship? Or is he earnestly attempting to secure a commitment from Brie after discovering her recent infidelity?
Regrettably, fans are in for a long wait before season seven reveals those eagerly awaited answers.
