The Conroe native recorded his first EP and full-length album in Austin after moving to the state capital after high school.

AUSTIN, Texas — On Jan. 20, Donald Trump will be inaugurated as the 47th president of the U.S.

As part of the celebration, the Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee announced on Wednesday a number of artists who will perform throughout the day, whether at the inauguration or at one of the following presidential balls.

Among those performing is country music singer Parker McCollum, who will perform at the Commander-in-Chief Ball later in the evening. McCollum is a native of Conroe, located north of Houston, but moved to Austin after graduating high school to pursue a career in music.

In 2012, McCollum recorded his debut extended play (EP), titled “A Red Town View,” in Austin. He followed that up in 2015 with his debut album, “The Limestone Creek,” which was recorded at Cedar Creek Studio in South Austin.

McCollum moved to Nashville during the COVID-19 pandemic and released three additional studio albums – 2017’s “Probably Wrong,” 2021’s “Gold Chain Cowboy” and 2023’s “Never Enough,” which featured the popular song “Handle on You” – during that time, before moving back to Texas in 2024.
