Bridgeport, WV – Former Mountaineer Running Back, Steve Slaton has been selected to the College Football Hall of Fame. Slaton played at West Virginia under Rich Rodriguez from 2005 to 2007. Slaton was a unanimous First Team All-American in 2006, a year in which finished fourth in Heisman voting. Slaton’s 2006 season saw him set West Virginia’s single-season rushing record with 1,744 yards.
In Slaton’s three seasons with the team, West Virginia went 33-5 and won three bowl games. Slaton is West Virginia’s seventh Hall of Fame inductee and the first since Darryl Talley in 2011.
