A man has been arrested and charged after allegedly attending at homes across the Stirling area unannounced and offering goods for sale.
The incidents occurred in the Doune, Kippen, Gargunnock and Stirling areas on Wednesday, January 15.
Following inquiries, officers arrested and charged a 30-year-old man in connection
He has been charged with offences under the Pedlars Act.
The Pedlars Act 1871 requires pedlars to apply to the chief constable of their local police force for a pedlar’s certificate. Trading as a pedlar without a certificate is an offence.
He has been released and will appear in court at a later date.
Inspector Andrew Gardner said: “Be on your guard if someone turns up unexpectedly at your door offering to sell you goods or items. If you see anything suspicious in your neighbourhood, please call us on 101.”
