A police search has been launched for a West Lothian man who was allegedly trying house and car door handles in the early hours of the morning.

Officers said the incidents took place between the hours of 1.48am and 1.58am on Monday, January 13, on Drumshorelands Road and James Young Avenue in Pumpherston.

The man has been described as white with a medium build, wearing a dark grey hooded top with a large icon on the front of this, wearing a woolly hat and light grey joggers and light coloured trainers.

Residents have been informed to be mindful of securing their homes and vehicles.

A spokesperson for West Lothian Police said: “Between 1.48am and 1.58am Monday, January 13, a male has been trying house door handles and car doors within Drumshoreland Road and James Young Avenue, Pumpherston.

“The white male is medium build, wearing a dark grey hooded top with a large icon on the front of this, wearing a woolly hat and light grey joggers and light coloured trainers.

“Please be mindful of the security of your houses and vehicles at all times.

“Should you have any information or CCTV footage of the male please contact 101 and quote incident number 0253 – 13/01/2025.
