Parents are being urged to return a popular children’s toy that was purchased from Asda as it may be unsafe to use.

On January 14, 2025, the supermarket chain issued a recall for its George Home Baby Walker due to it potentially posing a choking hazard to little ones. Shoppers have since been urged to “stop using it immediately.”

In its recall notice, Asda stated: “We have found that in a small number of cases, this product may pose a risk of choking due to the potential release of the metal bar used to hold the mirror and balls in place.”

Customers who have purchased the item – with barcode 5063089161265 – are urged to stop using it immediately and return it to their nearest store for a refund, no receipt necessary. Asda added: “We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused.”

On the same day, Asda also issued a food alert regarding McGhee’s Brown Rolls due to a packaging error. The Scottish Brown Rolls from McGhee’s Family Bakers were mistakenly mixed with soya-containing white bread rolls, reports the Express.

Asda warned that the presence of the allergen soya had not been declared on the packaging, posing a risk to customers with a soya allergy. The supermarket giant advised: “If you have a soya allergy please do not consume this product.

“Instead, return it to your nearest store where you will be given a full refund. We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused.”

It’s not the only recall notices shoppers have been made aware of recently. Farmfoods also recalled its cocktail sausages after packs were found to contain cheese and onion rolls which have not been declared on the list of ingredients.

As they contain dairy, they may pose a health risk to anyone with an allergy intolerance or allergy. The recall affects 700g packs of 50, with the batch code L4295 and best before date of October 2025.

Meanwhile, over at TK Maxx and Homesense, the Sultans Turkish Delight has also been recalled due to a packaging error. Various packs may also contain small traces of milk, with 225g and 250g boxes with November and December 2024 best before dates affected.
