A pensioner has died after a house fire in Glasgow.
Emergency services were called to Greenview Street in Pollokshaws after receiving reports of a fire at around 6.30pm on Wednesday, January 15, reports Glasgow Live.
A woman has also been taken to hospital as a precaution following the blaze.
Police are currently investigating the cause of the fire, it is not believed to be suspicious.
Images shared with Glasgow Live showed a large emergency services response to the blaze with various fire engines, ambulances and police vehicles in attendance.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “A 69 year-old man has died following a fire in Greenview Street in Pollokshaws, Glasgow.
“Emergency services were contacted around 6.35pm on Wednesday, January 15
“One woman was taken to hospital as a precaution.
“An investigation is underway to establish the cause of the fire which is not believed to be suspicious.”
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was contacted for comment.
