If you’re in need of a new bottle of whisky to toast Robert Burns this year, then Amazon has a wide range of deals worth checking out.

Ahead of January 25, The Ardmore Single Malt Scotch Whisky has been reduced by a decent 36 percent. Already an affordable £33 for a 70cl bottle, it has been reduced to an even more budget-friendly £21.

With its “slightly peated” flavour, this single malt is the perfect tipple for those who prefer their malt a little more mellow. Since it balances 80 percent peat with 20 percent unpeated malt, it offers a “unique” and “gentle” taste.

The yellow-gold coloured beverage is said to boast creamy vanilla balanced by sweet honey and spice. There’s also soft smokiness and little bit of earthiness to deepen the flavour.

Offering a dry, tangy aftertaste, you can enjoy a glass of this whisky neat over ice, or with a touch of water to bring out the charcoal flavours. Alternatively, it is also said to be suitable for cocktails, particularly the Legacy Old Fashioned.

The Ardmore Single Malt Whisky has earned a devoted fanbase and a 4.5 rating on Amazon based on 6,867 reviews, as shoppers single out its “smooth” flavours that give it a “broad appeal.”

One glowing review read: “Very nice slightly smokey peated finish. A nice smooth whisky with lots of flavours & a subtle smokey background, very much recommended even though I normally go for unpeated whiskys.”

Someone else penned: “Smooth and moreish. I’m not a connoisseur of malts but I know what I like. Very smooth (a bit too easy to drink!). I buy now quite regularly. More importantly, my son, who is a bit more of a connoisseur really likes it too.”

Another whisky fan said: “A fairly easy drinking malt Scotch. Very smoky, but nothing to extreme, and also remains smooth. I drink it neat but some people prefer a splash of water to help take the edge off, it really doesn’t need much.”

While another Amazon review read: “This is a whisky that will have broad appeal. If you’re worried about what to buy a whisky drinker, you wont go wrong here. There is nothing not to like, no harsh flavours, a light smokiness but doesn’t overpower, beautiful toffee, and vanilla on the nose and a soft slightly spicy finish.”

Not everyone was keen on the taste, as one review read: “After seeing all those lovely stars I thought I’d dive in blind and give it a whirl. Not for my palate. It’s an instant mouth burner. A little harsh and covers any subtle flavours it might have. Not a fan. Might be better as a mixer. (Sacrilege…I know) :(.”
