A Scots fashion designer has created a custom tartan kilt for actor Alan Cumming for the hit TV show the Traitors US.

Designer Siobhan Mackenzie is the fashion mastermind behind the outfit for the Scottish actor who is the host of the new US version of the hit reality show.

The show follows an all-star cast as they descend on the Scottish Highlands next week to battle it out to win $250,000 (£205,000).

The 29-year-old designer, from the Black Isle in the Highlands, took to Instagram to showcase her design with a photograph of the 59, screen star who is originally from Aberfeldy, Perthshire, actor wearing the specially made traditional Scottish outfit.

Revealing the outfit to her 28K fans on Instagram with a photograph of the 59-year-old actor in a black shirt and tie, with a corset dress in yellow tartan.

She posted: “Thank you @samspector for the opportunity to work with you

“As a Highland designer it was such an honour to design for @alancummingreally for a show set in our beautiful Highlands.”

The Traitors’ US is set at the same castle where Claudia Winkleman presents the British version.

Among the cast are reality stars from RU PAUL’s Drag Race, The Bachelorette and Selling Sunset.

Five episodes of the show will be available to stream.

Commonwealth Games Scotland team designer Siobhan, was the designer behind Team Scotland’s 2022 Commonwealth Games outfits, who created the tartan uniform worn by athletes at the opening ceremony in Birmingham in 2022.

In 2023, she received worldwide recognition after receiving honours in the IDA fashion and sustainable fashion categories.

Siobhan was awarded gold for her design and the tartan of the Team Scotland outfits.

She was also honoured for her pure silk collection, Repurpose, which is made out of leftover scraps of fabric she has gathered over the past decade.

Siobhan studied fashion design and production at Glasgow’s Kelvin College and launched her self-named label in 2014.
