Bullish NK Osijek midfielder Marko Soldo insists that links with Rangers show that his hard work is “gradually paying off.”
However, he insists he has NO reason to think about leaving the Croatian side for the Scottish Premiership this month. Both Nils Koppen and Philippe Clement are on the lookout for some January bargains and reports in his homeland suggest that 21-year-old star is on the Ibrox agenda with a £2million price tag. Soldo made the move to Osijek last summer from Dinamo Zagreb – with reports suggesting that the Croatian champions hold a buyback clause that would become active at the end of the campaign.
However, Soldo told Glas Slavonije insists he is tuning out any noise about his future as he enjoys his breakout season with Osijek – having netted four goals and managed four assists so far this term. He said: “All these stories about interest from foreign clubs are just confirmation for me that I have a quality half-season behind me. I am investing a lot in myself, working hard. [This] is gradually paying off.
“The interest from foreign clubs is just an additional motivation to continue on the path I have taken, primarily when it comes to work. As far as Dinamo is concerned, there is a clause according to which they can bring me back by a certain date and with compensation, but I am not burdened by that at all.
“I am enjoying Osijek. I have really settled in well. The team, working conditions and environment are excellent so, at the moment, I really have no reason to think about leaving.”
