Frank Henry Bonner Jr., 32, was arrested on Thursday at a bus stop near the scene of the crime.

AUSTIN, Texas — A man has been arrested in connection to the murder of a woman that happened in East Austin earlier this month.

On Thursday, the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force arrested 32-year-old Frank Henry Bonner Jr. at a bus stop at the intersection of Manor Road and Rogge Lane, near the scene of the crime in the 5700 block of Manor Road.

Austin police said Kelly Meazell was found lying in a pool of blood in a parking lot of a complex along Manor Road, near Rogge Lane, at around 1:44 a.m. on Jan. 9. Officers tried to save her life, but Meazell was pronounced dead roughly 30 minutes later.

Meazell was experiencing homelessness at the time of her death but frequented the area where she was killed.

The Austin Police Department (APD) took custody of Bonner after his arrest and booked him in the Travis County Jail.
