The destinations in Scotland that have the cheapest fuel prices have been named.
There are multiple everyday costs that Scots need to factor in when planning their budget, especially if they own a car, making it hard to save money. When it comes to petrol, every penny saved per litre counts.
New research conducted by Law Trucks has revealed the places in Scotland where petrol prices are the cheapest and most expensive. The experts analysed data from the Petrol Prices App, focusing on fuel stations within a five-mile radius of each area and recording the lowest prices possible.
According to Law Trucks, the least expensive places in the country for petrol are Glasgow and Kilmarnock. The average price of fuel in both Scotland’s largest city and the East Ayrshire town was found to be 130.9p per litre.
Elsewhere, Livingston and Aberdeen are the next-cheapest places for petrol in Scotland according to Law Trucks. The average price of a litre of fuel in both destinations was found to be 131.7p.
The fifth least expensive spot for fuel in Scotland according to the experts is Edinburgh. People living in the Scottish capital pay an average of 131.9p for a litre of petrol.
Meanwhile, the most expensive place for petrol in Scotland, according to Law Trucks is Dunfermline. Motorists in the country’s newest city can expect to pay an average of 135.7p per litre — 4.8p more than Glasgow and Kilmarnock.
The second priciest destinations in the country for fuel are Perth and East Kilbride. According to the experts, the average cost of a litre of fuel in both the central Scotland city and the South Lanarkshire town is 134.7p.
Rounding out the top five most expensive destinations in Scotland for petrol are Elgin in Moray and Inverness. A litre of fuel costs an average of 134.6p in the former, while it will set you back 133.9p in Inverness.
