A home caught fire Friday morning after the potential explosion, according to a captain with the North Bastrop County Fire Rescue.

ELGIN, Texas — Crews are investigating a possible home explosion in Bastrop County.

According to North Bastrop County Fire Rescue Captain Mark Wobus, responders received word of the potential explosion Friday morning and arrived around 2 a.m. at the home on Wilbarger Cove in Elgin.

Once on scene, Wobus said a double-wide mobile home exploded and caught fire, but crews were able to put out the flames.

No one was inside the home after the first search, and the fire rescue team plans to enter the property pending the approval of a warrant.

A fire marshal is also investigating, but details are currently limited.
