Police have release a CCTV image of a man wanted in connection with a an Islamophobic hate crime on a train.
The incident happened on a Glasgow to London train on October 27 at around 8:20pm.
Passengers on the train heard the distressing and threatening Islamophobic and violent rhetoric as the trains stopped at Penrith railway station.
The British Transport Police (BTP) urge anyone with information to come forward.
The BTP released a CCTV image of the man, who has balding white hair and was wearing a blue t-shirt and glasses, in the hope he can help them with their investigation.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 106 of 28 October.
“Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
