A 27-year-old man has been charged with the attempted murder of an infant who was found with “critical” injuries.

Dyfed-Powys Police in Wales reported that officers were called to a property in Y Ferwig, Ceredigion, on Wednesday, January 15, at around 10.15pm following concerns raised about the “welfare of an infant.”

The child was immediately taken to the hospital, where they remain in a “critical condition.”

Rhydian Jamieson, 27, from Cwm Cou, Newcastle Emlyn, has been charged with attempted murder. Jamieson has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court on Monday, January 20, reports WalesOnline.

A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “The investigation team is grateful for the support of the community, while enquiries have been carried out.”
