It’s one of the biggest prizes in snooker, with a new champion set to be crowned at Alexandra Palace.

For Judd Trump the Grand Slam sweep dream is over. Kyren Wilson ran out an impressive 6-3 winner and recorded a century and a break of 113 in the final frame. The world champion will battle it out with Shaun Murphy for glory after The Magician pulled a rabbit out of the hat in his 6-3 win against Mark Allen.

Murphy hit only the sixth 147 break in the history of the Masters tournament. He potted 15 reds and 15 blacks before clearing up the colours, and he punched the air as the 2,200 roaring fans inside the arena gave him a standing ovation. Respect to Allen, who also achieved a maximum break at the tournament in 2024, as he applauded his opponent’s incredible feat.

There was some doom and gloom at the start of the competition after Ronnie O’Sullivan pulled out of his title defence – but what a final we have in store now: Murphy vs Wilson. A ferocious week of competition between the world’s top 17 players will all come down to one match – with the winner lifting the the Paul Hunter Trophy and taking home a record amount of prize money.
