A firework siege took place in a Paisley housing estate before police were later called to a nearby street where a body was found.

Shocking footage emerged which showed a pyro battle unfold in front of terrified residents on Lochbroom Drive, in the Foxbar area, on Saturday.

Fireworks can be seen being aimed at three people on the street from a top floor window of a two-storey house. Several rockets explode in neighbouring gardens and parked cars.

The individuals on the street, clad in black, can be seen dodging the explosives. A firework appears to go off inside of the property, before the group dressed in black then storm the house.

Police were later called to Maree Road in the housing estate. Robert McNally, 21, was found with serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

His death is being treated as unexplained.

Tributes have been paid to the 21-year-old.

Police earlier confirmed that they arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with an assault.

Family and friends took to social media to pay tribute to Robert.

Cousin Nicole Adam said her “heart is broken into a million pieces”.

“I will never ever get over this heartache Robert. Forever 21 kiddo”.

Kellsie Robertson described Robert as “such a good person to be around” while another woman wrote: “Absoulutely gutted and devastated, can’t believe it.”

Neighbours and the wider community have been left shocked by the tragedy.

Images from the scene appear to show a large blue tent erected over a vehicle on the road.

A number of large blue screens have been placed around it to block off the area.

Police officers remain stationed at a cordon on the residential street while the investigation continues.

Detective Inspector Euan McMillan said: “A 21-year-old man was found seriously injured and pronounced dead at the scene. The death is currently being treated as unexplained and his next of kin are aware.

“A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with assault.

“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this incident, however there is no threat to the wider public.

“Officers will remain in the Foxbar area as enquiries are carried out and anyone with any concerns, can approach them.”
