Celtic fans are keen to see players come in the door with Brendan Rodgers still awaiting his first arrival.

But there has been plenty of players going through the exit door with Alexandro Bernabei the latest as he follows Stephen Welsh and Odin Thiago Holm through the exit door. A sale to Internacional worth a reported £5million has been rubber-stamped – marking a profit from the £3.75m the Premiership leaders paid Lanus to bring the left-back to the club in 2022.

He looks unlikely to be the only left-back heading for the exit door this month with an arrival of Kieran Tierney from Arsenal set to start a domino effect at Parkhead. The Scotland star could still agree a pre-contract move to Celtic Park – but should a January arrival get over the line, reports in Spain suggest Alex Valle’s loan switch to Como has already been approved.

A spanner could be thrown in the works if first-choice left-back Greg Taylor leaves the club as he approaches the final months of his deal. Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb, Spanish outfit Espanyol and English Championship team QPR are also keen on the 27-year-old.

However, the Hull Daily Mail report Taylor is on Hull City’s list of potential signings with Ryan Giles set to join Middlesborough this month. The Scotland cap is seen as an “option” should Giles leave but Record Sport understands Taylor is keen to stay at Celtic and extend his deal.

Maik Nawrocki. has also managed just one appearance this season – back in September in the League Cup win over Falkirk – and looks set to be allowed to leave this month. Record Sport previously revealed that Oxford United are keen on a loan deal for centre-back.

Asked about a move for Nawrocki by the Oxford Mail, coy boss Gary Rowett said: “I know Ed [Waldron, head of football operations] is spending every waking hour speaking to agents and clubs, trying to sign players. We’re certainly very proactive.

“How close we are, I don’t know. We’d hope to maybe get one or two more bodies in before the weekend. That would be the hope, but you never know. I spent all afternoon looking at players in the hotel room. That’s what we want to do, we want to strengthen the group.”

Luis Palma’s exit from Celtic also came to an abrupt halt when FIFA handed Rayo Vallecano a three-window transfer ban. However, the Honduran reportedly does have two interested clubs in Greece considering a deal.

The winger left the Greek Super League in 2023 after a successful campaign with Aris. Ekirikas report the 25-year-old is “high on the list” at Olympiacos while Panathinaikos are “considering” reviving the interest they had in the wide man before he made his switch to Scotland.
