Virgin River fans have been given a major hint that the show will be back for an eighth season.
Series 6 launched on Netflix in December and just before it hit screens, bosses confirmed it would be returning to the streaming site for a seventh instalment.
Now (Dan) Brady star Benjamin Hollingsworth has dropped serious clues that viewers will not be left waiting for more Virgin River action when the next run finishes up.
Hollingsworth was appearing on YouTube channel Popternative when he discussed season seven and revealed that talks about series 8 are already taking place behind the scenes.
Referring to a conversation he had with Virgin River show runner Patrick Sean Smith, he said: “I just had a conversation with Sean, and obviously, we need to be renewed for season eight, but he’s already thinking toward that.”
Touching upon what Virgin River fans can expect from season seven, Canadian star Hollingsworth revealed there would be more of a deep dive into Brady’s financial struggles.
He said show bosses will “explore a little bit more of Brady’s relationship to fighting fires” and will develop storylines around “his bank account getting zeroed out at the end of season 6.”
Referring to the huge global popularity of the show – which follows the inhabitants of a small northern California town – Hollingsworth added: “As long as it’s engaging and people are wanting to watch more of it and come back, that’s the overall goal.”
Virgin River season 6 is available to stream on Netflix.
