And it’s no surprise that a Scottish name was found all the way up at second place on the list. Here are some of the top jewel-inspired names for baby girls.
1. Ruby
“Ruby” came in at the top spot for the most popular jewel-inspired baby girl name in the UK, with 1,059 baby girls born with the name in 2023. A symbol of love, passion, and power, this jewel is a classic choice for new parents.
2. Maisie
While you may know that “Maisie” is a Scottish name, you may not know its meaning. The second most popular jewel-inspired baby girl name in the UK, with 1,039 baby girls given the name in 2023, “Maisie” means “pearl”, and is a diminutive of “Mairead” or “Margaret”.
3. Amber
“Amber” took third place for the most popular jewel-inspired baby girl name in the UK, and 407 baby girls were given the name in 2023. Although the name was less than half as popular as the first and second choices on the list, “Amber” represents history and mystery, and has stood the test of time as a popular choice for a new baby girl.
4. Pearl
“Pearl” was the fourth most popular jewel-inspired baby girl name in the UK, with 199 baby girls given the name in 2023. While its Scottish counterpart was far more sought-after, Pearl is a classic name that embodies purity, wisdom, and grace. It’s no wonder this sophisticated and original name was a top choice.
5. Sapphire
“Sapphire” took fifth place on the list, with 83 baby girls born with the name in 2023. A bold and regal-sounding choice, “Sapphire” is a twinkling name that matches the beautiful blue stone it comes from.
