Wayne Bridge, the former Chelsea player, has taken a stand against YouTube sensation KSI after he made fun of his past relationships.
Wayne, 44, has been happily married to Frankie Bridge, formerly Sandford of The Saturdays, for over a decade and they are considered one of the most successful celebrity couples in the industry.
Prior to his relationship with Frankie, Wayne had a four-year relationship with French model Vanessa Perroncel, with whom he has a son.
A boxing match between Wayne and KSI, whose real name is Olajide Olatunji and is also the CEO of Misfits Boxing, was scheduled for March.
However, things took a turn for the worse when KSI confronted Wayne during the Darren Till-Anthony Taylor match on Saturday. Fans may now be curious about Wayne’s relationship with Frankie and his previous romance with Vanessa.
Here’s what you need to know about the ex-Premier League star…
Wayne and Frankie tied the knot back in July 2014.
Their wedding was a star-studded affair, with guests including Rochelle Humes and Mollie King. The ceremony was held at Woburn Abbey in Bedfordshire, where their loved ones gathered to watch them exchange vows, reports the Mirror.
More friends joined the celebration later in the evening, a decision Frankie later admitted she regretted.
In her 2021 chat with Hello! Magazine, Frankie shared wedding advice saying: “The only thing I always say to my mates when they’re getting married is to try not to have evening guests, have everybody there all day.
Because you see everyone, you chat to everyone and kind of have all these conversations and welcome them, and then just as everyone relaxes and you’re about to have a good time, a whole new load of people come and you have all those conversations again, which is lovely but I felt like I didn’t really see Wayne in the evening,” she continued.
Frankie and Wayne Bridge have been in a relationship since late 2011 and became parents when they welcomed their first son Parker in October 2013.
The couple tied the knot the following year and went on to have a second son, Carter, in August 2015.
Last year, speaking to Grazia, Frankie discussed her feelings about her body after having children: “I have to be honest; I don’t think becoming a mum has changed my attitude to my body massively. I still have a conflicting relationship with it and how it’s changed since becoming a parent. It’s something I’m constantly working on.”
She further elaborated on maintaining her energy levels: “I need energy to work and look after two busy boys. So, I try to focus on nutrition and moving my body for my mind, although those things are sometimes easier said than done.”
Former footballer Wayne Bridge and French model Vanessa Perroncel’s relationship, which lasted from 2005 to 2009 and saw the birth of their son Jaydon Jean Claude Bridge in November 2006, was thrust into the limelight following their split amid rumours that fellow footballer John Terry had an affair with Vanessa – a claim she denied.
The past scandal resurfaced during a boxing match face-off last weekend when KSI made a controversial reference to the alleged affair, asking Wayne: “Aren’t you the guy that let John Terry smash your ex? ”
This remark led to Wayne pulling out of the scheduled fight, feeling that a personal boundary had been overstepped.
Despite withdrawing, Wayne has declared his intention to box another opponent.
Addressing KSI’s harsh jibe, Wayne expressed his disappointment on Instagram, stating: “I was fully expecting to train hard and have some fun. Of course, I was expecting some criticism, but I feel like what was said on Saturday crossed a line.”

“These are deeply personal comments that affect mine and other families involved in the situation. I’m a family man first and my priority is protecting them. My opponent is someone that many children look up to around the world, including my kids.”
“I hope one day he will look back on this differently. I personally don’t want to be involved in these situations. I will no longer be fighting on March 29. I’m still looking out for my next big challenge and have some exciting things coming up in 2025.”
