Prince Harry believes his late mother Princess Diana would have “wanted” him to move to the US to raise his two kids with Meghan Markle.

The Duke of Sussex, who is a father-of-two to Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three, opened up about the former Princess of Wales at the New York Times Dealbook Summit last month.

Diana passed away in August 1997 after a tragic car accident in Paris when Harry was just 12-years-old.

He said: “I feel as though it’s the life that my mom wanted for me. To be able to do the things I’m able to do with my kids that I undoubtedly wouldn’t be able to do in the UK, it’s huge. I’m hugely grateful for that.”

Harry, 40, said he will be staying in the US for the long haul as he revealed what he enjoys most about living in the States, according to Page Six.

He said: “I very much enjoy living here and bringing up my kids here. It’s a part of my life that I never thought that I was gonna live.”

Their move across the pond came less than two years after they tied the knot in May 2018.

Despite living in the UK for 35 years of his life, Harry has revealed he is now considering becoming a US citizen, confessing: “It’s amazing. I love every single day.”

Speaking on Good Morning America, he said: “The American citizenship is a thought that has crossed my mind but is certainly not something that is a high priority for me right now”.

That same month, the duke named the US as his official residence in a company filing. Harry has rarely made the journey back to the UK since leaving England five years ago with the exception of his numerous solo journeys across the pond for his ongoing court case against the News Group Newspapers.

In terms of his relationship with King Charles and Prince William, it’s believed the duke still hasn’t fully mended his bond with his father and older brother.
