Harrison Holidays has announced the acquisition of Crofthead Holiday Park in Ayrshire.
The deal makes this the 10th holiday park within the family-owned business and its first in Scotland.
The Preston-based organisation has been operating since 1974, but in recent years has seen significant expansion with the addition of a number of new holiday parks across the country to its growing portfolio.
Crofthead Holiday Park combines the very best of the countryside and coastal locations that Harrison Holidays is famed for.
It is set in the beautiful Ayrshire countryside and yet the nearest beach, which boasts breathtaking views across the Firth of Clyde to the Isle of Arran, is only two miles away. The Family Friendly park expands across 85 acres and features lots of modern amenities that include a coffee bar, shop, adventure playground and crazy golf.
There are 50 luxury lodges and static caravans for holidaymakers to book and 25 pitches for those touring the area with their own caravan or tent.
The Scottish Thistle Awarded lodges offer two, three and four bed options and come with stylish interiors, beautiful finishing touches and hot tubs with stunning views across the countryside. There is also the option to purchase a holiday home at the park, with 650 accommodated across the grounds, for those who want to enjoy time at the Crofthead throughout the year.
The year 2024 was a momentous year for Harrison Holidays, which marked its 50th anniversary, and the purchase of Crofthead Holiday Park signifies a future of continued growth and investment in the business.
In 2023 it acquired Cakes & Ale Holiday Park in Suffolk and Rawcliffe Hall Holiday Park in Blackpool just the year before.
Throughout this period it has also been overseeing significant leisure developments to its Wild Rose Holiday Park in Cumbria. This growth sits alongside a family oriented vision that’s been a part of the business since it was founded by George Harrison and is why it is a finalist for best Family Business Award in the Lancashire Tourism Awards, which take place in February 2025. Harrison Holidays was also a finalist in the Growing Business Awards.
William Harrison, one of the Directors at Harrison Holidays, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming our first Scottish holiday park to the Harrison Holidays family.
“Crofthead Holiday Park is in an incredible location that takes in Ayrshire’s stunning coastline and scenic countryside. Not only that, but its family focus is in keeping with the values of our own business, making this the perfect match.
“We’ve been celebrating the milestone of reaching our 10th holiday park in our 50th year of operation with all our colleagues and it’s thanks to their passion and dedication that we are continuing to grow and strengthen the business.”
