Two weeks of overnight lane closures on the A9 at Killiecrankie will take place for drainage works.

The works each night between 7pm and 6am commence on Monday February 3 and are set to finish on the morning of Saturday February 15 weather permitting.

The filter drain improvement works – carried out by BEAR Scotland on behalf of Transport Scotland – require lane closures with two-way traffic lights. Traffic management arrangements will be removed outwith working hours.

BEAR Scotland north west representative Ian Stewart said, “These essential filter drain improvement works will ensure the drainage system continues to operate effectively and reduce the risk of flooding on the trunk road.

“To reduce the impact on the travelling public, we have programmed the works during the night, outwith peak traffic volumes. We thank road users for their patience in advance while we complete these works.

“We encourage motorists to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
