Police said the suspect stole money from a woman inside the Tornado & El Expreso Bus Company in South Austin.

AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department (APD) is searching for a man who robbed and violently assaulted a bus station employee in South Austin last month.

According to APD, the incident occurred on Dec. 12 at the Tornado & El Expreso Bus Company on East Ben White Boulevard. Police say the victim was working in her office when the suspect entered, brandished a gun and demanded money.

He then physically attacked the victim, pistol-whipping and punching her, before fleeing on foot toward I-35. The suspect is described as a man approximately 50-60 years old.

He was last seen wearing:

  • Plain black hooded jacket
  • Baseball hat
  • Black medical face mask
  • Black gloves
  • Dark-colored jeans
  • Black dress shoes
  • Armed with a handgun
