Police have launched a probe after a man died after being found injured outside a property in a Scots town.
The incident happened in the Braehead area of Cromarty in the Highlands yesterday, Wednesday, January 22, at around 6:45pm.
Emergency crews were alerted but tragically the 77-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Scotland are treating the death as unexplained but say their enquiries are ongoing and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Around 6.45pm on Wednesday, 22 January, 2025, we were called to a report of a 77-year-old man found injured outside a property in the Braehead area of Cromarty.
“Emergency services attended however he was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.
“A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
