Love Island star Luca Bish has earned praise from fans after giving Catherine Agbaje a thoughtful and sincere pep talk during a heart-to-heart conversation on last night’s (January 23) episode.
The conversation came after the public vote, which saw Catherine and Nas being voted as one of the most incompatible couples.
In a heartfelt moment, Luca sat down with Catherine to offer some comforting words of advice.
“How you feeling?” Luca asked, to which Catherine replied: “It’s just a very, very hard situation because it’s like, is the public seeing something I’m seeing or seeing something I’m not seeing?”
Luca responded with words of wisdom for Catherine, saying: “No, but I think everyone in here and the public are seeing it. There’s slow burn and then there’s nothing. I think he needs to be honest with himself – and I love Nas as a person, I think he’s the sweetest boy – but does he give you the affection you deserve? No.
“Every girl in the world should have a man that wants to give them something and you deserve that.”
His heartfelt words resonated with many fans, who took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express their appreciation for Luca’s honesty.
One fan wrote: “Luca giving Catherine that honest pep talk has given me a lot of respect for him and I’ll finally admit I kind of like him this season. Everyone in that villa had the chance to tell her but only he had the integrity to kindly do so.”
Another commented: “Liking Luca was not on my 2025 bingo cards, he is speaking straight facts.”
A third fan reflected on his growth, saying: “Luca went from being a dick to Tasha for crying to becoming an intelligent, self-aware man who is in touch with his emotions… in two years.”
Others also acknowledge his transformation: “Why is Luca the most mature this season and respectful?”
At the start of the season, fans were concerned about Luca, with some viewers describing him as “really quiet” and unsure about his place on the show.
Many wondered if he was considering leaving the villa, as his behaviour seemed completely different from his outgoing nature during his first appearance on the show in 2022.
This resulted in Luca’s sister Claudia taking to social media to address the concerns, saying: “I definitely don’t think it’s that he ‘doesn’t want to be there’ at all.”
“I watch the show like a HAWK and pick up on the little shots of him messing around and laughing with them all in the background of different scenes, which is so reassuring. He is still bringing the one-liners — we can’t all smile 24/7,” she continued.

She explained that Luca tends to overthink and was likely just in his own head at the start of the show.
Since then, Luca has won over fans and shown self growth from the previous season, quickly becoming a fan favourite.
