A series of warm hubs have opened across Dumfries and Galloway as hundreds of people are still without power due to Storm Eowyn.
The region’s Local Resilience Partnership is working with Scottish Power Energy Networks (SPEN) to help those who are still without electricity.
A council spokesman said: “As part of our resilience response, Dumfries and Galloway Local Resilience Partnership is working in collaboration with SP Energy Networks (SPEN) to provide our communities across Dumfries and Galloway who remain without power due to Storm Eowyn with additional on-the-ground support.
“There are around 1,200 properties without power in the region, going into a fifth day.
“SP Energy Network engineers have been working round the clock under challenging conditions to reconnect customers in Scotland to restore power to affected properties.”

The spokesman added: “There will be a mixture of support available at the warm hubs provided by the Local Resilience Partnership including free soup and filled rolls, free hot drinks, free bottled water heating, phone-charging (bring your phone charger) and friendly faces.
“These warm hubs will supplement the efforts that are taking place across affected communities in Dumfries and Galloway to support those who remain affected by power outages.”
