Tommy Fury gave his Scottish fans a treat at the weekend after he paid a visit to a gym in Paisley to meet with locals.

The boxer, 25, popped into the Muscle Lab in Paisley for a special event on Sunday after dining out at Butchers Steak and Grill in Elderslie, Renfrewshire.

The former Love Island star was filming for his upcoming BBC documentary in the area, with fans being given the opportunity to have a meet and greet with him.

Gym owner Chris Strathearn told the Scottish Sun that the ticketed event consisted of a Q&A and meet and greet and was open to people of all ages.

Hundreds of locals turned up, with one lucky fan even leaving away with a replica boxing belt signed by Fury himself.

Fury was also given the opportunity to officially open a boxing area that was added to Muscle Lab Gym where he saw the mural painted of him and his heavy weight boxing champion brother, Tyson Fury, for the first time.

Chris said: “It was a great event, Tommy answered questions, took photos, saw the painting with his brother… It was part of his documentary with the BBC so they were there as well.

“I think that comes out about July. There was a full crowd – everyone was excited. Over 100 people turned up to meet him.

“It was open to kids of all ages but it was mostly young boys who wanted to meet their idol with an age range of 12-16. But there were some older ladies who wanted to see him between 20 and 45, so there was a good mixture.

“One little boy won the raffle which was a replica boxing belt which was signed and presented by Tommy.”

The gym owner said word spread quickly that Fury was in the area after the team took him to a local restaurant in Renfrewshire for food.

The reality star shocked staff when he turned up at Butchers Steak and Grill for a steak dinner, claiming it was “one of the best I’ve had”.

Chris added: “First we took him to a restaurant, my friend’s steakhouse Butchers Steak and Grill so the word started to get out that he was in the town.

“Then ten minutes before it started we had cars of mums bringing their daughters to try and get a glimpse of Tommy. It was a ticketed event but we just let them in for free before it started and it really made their day, everyone left happy.

“We recently added a boxing area to the gym and wanted Tommy to officially open it and to see his mural painting alongside his brother Tyson.”

Speaking of Tommy’s reaction to the mural, he said: “He loved the gym and the painting. He sent the pictures of it to his manager and a picture of the painting of Tyson to his brother, it was brilliant!

“In the past we’ve had people like Ronnie Coleman and wrestler Drew McIntyre visit for events at the gym, so it was nice to add Tommy Fury to the list.”
