Scottish city ranked in top three UK spots looking for love the most

January is coming to an end and as we turn our attention to the month ahead, there is one key date that sticks out on the calendar – February 14.

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, and love will soon be in the air. Scots may already be wondering where to take their significant other, while singletons may be looking for the best place to head in the hopes of meeting the one.

Well, fear not, as one Scottish city has been named in the top three UK cities looking for love the most, according to a recent study. So, where in the country could sparks fly?

The study, conducted by casino experts Casino Revisor, used monthly Google searches to see which UK cities looking for love the most through dating apps and dating events over 11 months.

And it turns out the nation’s capital is one of the top three UK cities on the look out for that special someone. Edinburgh placed third, with 777.07 monthly Google searches per 100,000 residents.

Edinburgh’s favourite dating app is OkCupid, with 510 monthly searches. Tinder follows in second with 303, while Grindr is third with 267 searches per month. Residents here have averaged 4,002 monthly searches looking for love.

Meanwhile, Plymouth is the city most on the hunt for a partner. Bournemouth ranks second followed by Liverpool in fourth. Rounding out the top five is Birmingham, with 743.89 monthly Google searches per 100,000 residents.

Glasgow also comes in at a respectable ninth.

It could be the majestic castle towering over the city, the cobbled streets like a scene from a film or the views from Calton Hill that make the capital go down a treat with hopeless romantics.
