A network of warm hubs across Dumfries and Galloway will open for a second day.
The region’s Community Resilience Partnership is working with Scottish Power Energy Networks (SPEN) to help people still without power after Storm Eowyn.
At one point on Friday, more than 45,000 homes were without power. By Wednesday morning, all but 303 homes had been reconnected as SPEN staff continue to work round the clock to repair the damage.
The warm hubs initially opened on Tuesday and will be open again on Wednesday from 12noon until 9pm.
A Dumfries and Galloway Council spokesman said: “These are the nearest places to pockets of power outages in often remote areas of the region where we have identified additional support is needed.
“There will be a mixture of support available at the warm hubs provided by the Local Resilience Partnership including free soup and filled rolls, free hot drinks, free bottled water heating, phone-charging (bring your phone charger) and friendly faces.
“These warm hubs will supplement the efforts that are taking place across affected communities in Dumfries and Galloway to support those who remain affected by power outages.”
