It’s been a few weeks since Outlander season seven wrapped and fans are STILL talking about that draw-dropping ending.
The episode ended with it being heavily hinted (but not confirmed) that Claire and Jamie’s first daughter, Faith Fraser, actually lived and didn’t die at birth.
In the final scene, Fanny Pocock (Florrie May Wilkinson) was discovered by Claire singing a recognisable lullaby which immediately caught Claire’s attention.
It was the same exact song she sang to her stillborn baby, Faith Fraser, convincing her she somehow survived and gave birth to Jane and Fanny, who would be Claire’s grandchildren.
Fans who will remember the episode of Faith’s birth will recall that in series 2, Master Raymond looked after Claire following the childbirth and told her that Faith had been taken away to be buried and then later Claire and Jamie visited her grave in Paris.
However, now a new theory has come to light that maybe, Claire gave birth to twins.
Claire became really ill after her placenta didn’t pass after Faith’s birth.
One fan rewatched the original episode of Faith’s birth and wrote: “Hi everybody! I just have another theory. What if Claire was pregnant with twins? And when Master Raymond was removing the placenta was in fact delivering baby 2?
“Claire’s belly had still an oval shape and after he took the placenta, He went to hide behind the bed as a nun was approaching and Claire did sort of push to remove the “placenta”. It is just a thought. I just re-watched the Faith Chapter.”
And some fans were torn at this theory.
One said: “A possibility I suppose I mean it is fictional and anything is possible!”
Another wrote: “This is the most sound theory I’ve heard about this.”
While one said: “This was my theory as well. Twins.”
And another added: “This is my favourite theory!!!!!”
With another saying: “Now that’s a great theory! Wow!”
However many disagreed with one saying: “Anyone who has given birth can tell you, you still look pregnant even days later. Your womb doesn’t shrink immediately.”
Another disagreed but put forward another theory that perhaps Charles Stuart and Jamie and Claire’s babies were swapped, they wrote: “Not plausible. Clair was a medical professional. She would have likely known if she was carrying twins. I do believe the dead baby belonged to the French woman who was pregnant by Charles Stuart. If you watch where Claire and Jamie visit the baby’s grave, the name on the headstone says Faith Stuart.”
While one said: “I’m actually wondering if somehow Master Raymond was able to time travel briefly and save Faith but Claire doesn’t remember it. Just like Roger doesn’t remember his dad saving him.
“The books explained that time travellers can’t be in the same place at the same time but Master Raymond is supposed to be a master at time. While not plausible in our real world it could potentially be in this fake world. I have been trying to wrap my head around the possibility too.”
