Police have seized more than £1.6million worth of drugs in two separate busts in Stirling and the Highlands.
Officers stopped a vehicle in Mount High, Balblair, near the Black Isle, at around 9am on Tuesday morning where they recovered cannabis with an estimated street value of £600,000.
Two men, aged 29 and 33, were arrested and charged in connection with the recovery. They were due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court today (Wednesday).
Later that day, at around 4pm, officers entered a property on Forth Street, in the Riverside area of Stirling, and recovered approximately 1,400 cannabis plants worth an estimated street value of £1million.

Detective Superintendent Brian Geddes said of the recovery in Mount High: “This recovery sends a clear message that we will not tolerate illegal drugs in our communities.
“Our officers are determined to protect the public from this harmful criminality by disrupting the cultivation and sale of illegal substances, preventing them being circulated in our local areas and addressing the concerns of local people.”
On the Stirling seizure, Chief Inspector Katrina Thompson added: “Tackling drugs remains one of our top priorities and this operation highlights our commitment to eradicating them from our communities.
“We will use all available tools to combat this activity, but we cannot do it alone. We rely on the support and cooperation from the public and we encourage anyone with information or concerns about drugs to get in touch with us.”
