The headteacher of a Motherwell high school has welcomed a glowing inspectors report.

The report into Taylor High School highlights key strengths and the dedication of staff, students, and the wider school community.

They praised the politeness and enthusiasm of pupils, noting their articulate and eager approach to learning.

The school’s headteacher Paul McWatt said: “The Inspection team quickly recognised the strong ethos of our school, and in particular the politeness and enthusiasm of our pupils to learn.

“Inspectors have acknowledged the impact of our team’s work in refreshing our values, vision, and commitments to our young people.

“The inspection report highlights the impact of these initiatives, as our aspirations for our young people continue to be translated into clear improvement activities that align with the school’s ethos.

“I am grateful for the continued care and diligence that Team Taylor shows for our young people and our common ambitions for their outcomes.”

Meanwhile, the staff’s commitment to delivering high-quality educational experiences was also recognised.

Councillor Michael McBride, Convener of Education, Children and Families, commended the school on its achievements, stating: “Everyone at Taylor High School should be incredibly proud of this report, which is a clear reflection of the dedication and hard work of both staff and students.

“The school’s commitment to providing a nurturing and high-quality learning environment is evident, and I have no doubt they will continue to build on this success in the years ahead.”

Taylor’s leadership team has reaffirmed its commitment to building on current successes and working closely with students, staff, and parents to continue enhancing learning experiences and outcomes.
