AUSTIN, Texas — A TikTok prank has led to the arrest of two men in Kyle.
The incident happened on Wednesday afternoon at around 3:20 p.m. According to the Kyle Police Department, two children, aged 7 and 9, were walking home from Negley Elementary School when they were approached two men who asked them if they wanted to be kidnapped.
The children then immediately contacted their parents, who then contacted police.
When police arrived, the two men – aged 18 and 19 – told police they were imitating a prank they had seen on TikTok. They were subsequently arrested and charged with terroristic threat.
The Kyle Police Department said that Hays CISD has been notified about the incident.
