East Kilbride boss Mick Kennedy insists he is focused on winning everything they are still involved in this season and won’t cast cup competitions aside.
The Lowland League leaders are currently on course to defend their title but a South Challenge Cup quarter-final at home to Cumnock and a Lowland League First Round clash away to Cumbernauld Colts on Tuesday are their immediate focus after a valiant run to the semi-finals of the SPFL Trust Trophy.
And the K-Park gaffer says they won’t be taking anything lightly in the remaining competitions at their level.
Kennedy said: “Everybody’s priority is to win the Lowland League again and get to League Two and sometimes these competitions aren’t important to other people, but I want to win every competition we are in.
“The reality is, with the group we’ve got, we should be looking to win these competitions or, at least, make the latter stages.
“We definitely want to win on Saturday and next Tuesday and we’ll just manage the cup games as we progress through the league.”
West of Scotland Premier Division side Cumnock come calling looking to cause an upset and Kennedy is looking forward to the test.
He added: “I know Swifty [manager Stephen Swift] really well and I know a few of the players there, so I’m looking forward to it.
“It should be a good occasion on Saturday and then we can look at Tuesday night after that.”
Meanwhile, Kennedy added midfielder Luke Main from Pollok on Monday and is hoping to add to his squad further for the remainder of the season.
He added: “We are working on a couple of bits and pieces but we will need to wait until the transfer window closes in the SPFL. Once that shuts down, that will make it a bit easier to see what we can do.
“We are trying for a striker and another central defender.”
