A man has tragically died after being struck by a lorry on a busy Glasgow road.

Emergency services raced to the Clydeside Expressway at around 1.30pm on Wednesday, January 29, following a crash between a male pedestrian and a HGV.

Sadly the man was pronounced dead at the scene with formal identification yet to take place. A police investigation has now been launched and road policing officers are appealing for information following a fatal crash on Clydeside Expressway.

The busy road in the city centre was closed for a number of hours while officers carried out enquiries into the incident.

Sergeant Adnan Alan of the Road Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts are with family and friends of the man who died.

“Our enquiries are ongoing and I’d like to thank motorists for their patience whilst we dealt with this incident. The road re-opened around 7.20pm on Wednesday, 29 January, 2025. We continue to appeal for anyone with dash-cam footage, or who have witnessed the crash to please come forward.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting 1688 of 29 January, 2025.”
